The chassis appears a simple construction compared to the Group C and GTP cars we are used to. It’s mainly made of square and round steel tubing and flat carbon fibre sheeting and aluminium panels.

Hot on the heels of finishing the Miller Nissan GTP car, we’re deep into the restoration of a Riley & Scott MkIII.

Riley & Scott MkIII

The Riley & Scott MkIII was initially designed by Riley & Scott Cars Inc. in 1993 to compete in the World Sports Car (WSC) category which was to debut in the North American IMSA GT Championship during the 1994 season.

The IMSA regulations were changed for the 1994 season with the intention of introducing more low-cost open-cockpit prototypes to replace the expensive closed-cockpit GTP models.

In 1998, Riley & Scott evolved the Mk III’s designs in order to adapt to the newer Le Mans Prototype (LMP) regulations enabling the car to compete in the 24hr of Le Mans.

We intend to restore this car back to the livery as raced in the 1998 Le Mans 24hr.

When we collected the car, it was looking in a poor state, having been stored for some years outside, under a tarpaulin.
